Christ Church College Outreach Group Pray for Peace and Relief from Covid-19
During break, our Christ Church College Outreach group got together to pray for peace and relief from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Each child had a yellow balloon, which signified their Faith in Jesus. Each balloon had their favourite bible verse and a prayer written on it. These verses and prayers were quietly recited during the prayer session, then released to the Heavens. (Please note that the balloons were not physically released, they were disposed of safely. Only the prayers were released.)
“Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path.” – Psalms 119:105
2020 Valentine’s Day Outreach Initiative
On Friday, 14 February, our Outreach Department ventured out to spread the love. Ms Matewe, Outreach coordinator, and Thabiso Mulauzi, Grade 12, delivered sweets and chocolates, containing messages of love and bible verses to Nokhupila Pre-school pupils. The pupils at Nokhupila were so excited, they could hardly contain themselves. They were most appreciative of the gifts, both spiritual and edible. The sweets and messages were purchased and prepared by the Christ Church College Outreach Club members.
Blood Drive – 25 February 2020
The donation of blood, once every three months, is one of the most selfless acts we can do. We live by The Holy Word of the Bible, and Matthew 22 verse 39 says “The second commandment I give you is to love your neighbour as you love yourself;” and what better way to follow this commandment than by helping to save a life. It only takes about two hours out of your day; and without the donations, our National Blood Banks would ‘run dry’. You never know what your future holds, and maybe, one day, you will be the one in desperate need of a blood transfusion.
Thank you to everyone who gave of their time on Tuesday, 25th February, your donation will save a life. Our donors were: Valyska Govender, Mrs Lianne Munday, Andrew Clark, Theresa Grant, Ndoda Ramuvhundu, Ncumisa Mbebe, Refiloe Mulauzi, Thabiso Mulauzi, Mrs Ronelle Oakes, Marq Schmitz, Connor Schmitz and Scott Lecke.
A number of other prospective donors arrived. Unfortunately they were turned away due to low blood pressure or being on flu medication.
Again, a huge thank you to everyone who donated. Come on, Christ Church, let’s double our numbers at the next blood draw! I will send out information once dates have been confirmed and we can shock SANBS with our turnout.
